New House Industries Book:
The Process Is The Inspiration

House Industries announces the release of its new book, The Process Is the Inspiration. Published with Watson-Guptill, an imprint of Penguin Random House, the book’s release on May 30, 2017 will coincide with a major House Industries exhibition at The Henry Ford museum.

The Process Is the Inspiration is available for preorder through all major online and brick and mortar retailers.

For a quarter century, House Industries has carved out an unlikely niche in the design world by cultivating a diverse body of work—from fonts and fashion to ceramics and space technology. The Process Is the Inspiration (Authors: Andy Cruz, Rich Roat, and Ken Barber; foreword by JJ Abrams) is an illustrative and entertaining journey through the studio’s creative process. Presented in House’s honest, authentic, and often irreverent style, this beautifully useful 400-page volume offers a personal perspective on the origin of ideas for creative people in any field. Not only does this engaging book contain a collection of helpful lessons, stories, and case studies, but it also shows how to transform obsessive curiosity into personally satisfying and successful work.

Featuring a highly textured and embossed hard cover case, metallic ink and varnish, four different paper stocks, and hundreds of new photographs of sketches, reference materials, finished work, and archived artifacts, this comprehensive visual and anecdotal narrative is a must-have for any fan of design.
